Hello All, New In Ready Room as of today.
My name is Tommy. Retired from the military in 2012 after 23 years. I have 4 kids. My wife decided to join the military 5 years after I retired; so I am following her around now, we are currently in Alaska; love it so far, but I will update you once we make it thru a winter. We are from the south, so not much experience with snow and extreme cold. But, we will adapt.
Looking forward to learning here.

Hello! My name is Danae I am 30yrs old, I come from a more quieter background I work in Healthcare for the Aged Care Community in Queensland, Australia.
I have a Family member in our Australian Air Force He has been deployed to a few places overseas, currently at home.
A large number of those I care for have served for our Country so it is a real pleasure in giving back what I can everyday, in retrospect it is rewarding to help everyone I can, either within my career or everyday life.
I have been following Clint for only a small amount of time and already I have felt so much more confident in myself from his book’s, video’s, Podcasts and his ability to Empower people through his words from his knowledge that I am really looking forward to being apart of this now. Thank you for having me here.

Hey, I’m Charlie and a mum of 2 little ones. I live in Western Australia and for the past 11 years I have been working in a Prison as a movements officer. The job entails coordinating all inter-prison transfer around the state and cross border, prisoner releases such as bail, suspended sentences etc. I also organise all prisoner movements to court and medicals. I am halfway through a Bachelor’s degree in Counter Terrorism Security and Intelligence, which I have had to defer as the kids and work take up a lot of my time. So I thought I’d take the opportunity sign up to the Ready room so that I can continue my love of learning. Thanks 🙂

Hi there Clint and gang! My name is David Killen. I am a software engineer with a background in law. I’m looking forward to seeing how The Ready Room develops. As a child and young adult I was involved in Scouting and had an active outdoor life. That changed and I have spent less time doing those activities as an adult. The knowledge and skills that I learned then have served me well over the years. However, my own children are missing out. I’m here not just for my own benefit as I am now doing a lot of travel again, but to help prepare my kids for this changing world.
Looking forward to chatting with you all!

Howdy,
I found out about Emerson via You Tube, his spy museum interview popped up via the algorithm. The idea of using fear as fuel fascinates me. If I could harness my fears I could do anything, I’m scared all the damn time!
I escaped corporate America at 49, almost 2 years ago. Since then I’ve been throwing anything that doesn’t serve me overboard, like I’m in an old school pirate movie trying to outrun the British. After I sell the boat anchor (my house), I’ll head west to a lower cost of living area somewhere with mountains and snow. Maybe I’ll pick up some work that allows me free travel and a little pocket cash. Maybe I’ll buy an off grid cabin and hide away forever. I have no idea what I am doing, where I will do it, or with whom. I’m terrified. On the other hand my ancestors put their stuff in covered wagons and made their way, so I am pretty sure I can figure it out hopefully without freezing to death, going bankrupt, or getting murdered, or worse …..audited.
I am trying to learn how to be positive, but after yeas of looking for the failure mode so ya’ll wouldn’t die, it’s tough to retrain my brain.
So I am looking for a community to ask questions and brain storm solutions when I get stuck, so I thought I would give this a try.
Rachel
PS Yes, I really am a Kunoichi, I am in a Japanese National TV special on Kunoichis. Ok it was for failing the test, but I’m still in the special!!!!

Hello Everyone!
My name is Chris Spryn, and I’m from the state of PA. Unfortunately I am very late to this forum, as I have been a member here for awhile now and never joined the conversation. However, I have now officially decided to introduce myself.
I recently started my own business “Spryn Crisis Solutions” through the help of Clint himself and his Escape The Wolf CMP (Crisis Management Professional) Program. SCS (My Company Acronym) exists to assist businesses and organizations with emergency preparedness, and safety and security program development. Also, as a USCCA certified Instructor, I offer individual training and education on things like Situational Awareness, Personal and Home Protection, Firearms Usage and Concealed Carry, Emergency First Aid Fundamentals, and more…
Despite what I mention in the above, I don’t profess to be an expert and I am eager to grow and draw from the knowledge and experience of the rest of you. I consider myself to be on a path and far from the finish line, that is, if one ever really reaches such a point.
A special thanks to Clint and Shauna for providing this opportunity for us to learn and grow in the Ready Room. I look forward to the education and being apart of the conversation here.
Take care & stay safe,
Chris

Today is 10/7/22 (since the dates are messed up on the website.)
Happy Friday everyone!
My name is Amanda Potter. I am the oldest of 6 kids, named alphabetically, as well as a 5th generation native of Grand Junction, CO. I am a veteran of the US Army, where I served as a Military Police and Corrections Officer at Fort Carson, CO and met my husband. I am married to a wonderful man and we will celebrate 20 years in January. We have 2 great kids, a daughter and a son. Our daughter graduated in May and is off on a 9 month missions trip to 4 countries. Our son is a Junior and a part of the schools Trap and Skeet team. I earned my Masters degree in Community Counseling and worked as a substitute teacher, a secretary and then a counselor in our local school district. My favorite was working with kids at the alternative school and our local youth detention center. I taught firearms courses for years and now I am teaching real estate, I definitely have a heart for teaching! I am a real estate broker licensed in 2 states with brokerages in Grand Junction, CO and Dallas, TX. I volunteer with local conservation chapters; I was a CASA Advocate and I was a board member for our local Hospice program. I will be finishing up my term as Chair of our local REALTOR® association in November. I love scuba diving, hunting (rifle and bow), fishing (mostly off shore), growing micro-greens and making homemade bread and kombucha. I have great admin skills and love spreadsheets! My favorite drinks are an Old Fashion or a good Whisky or Scotch neat; I especially like the Islays. I always enjoy being the student and constantly learning as well as teaching and helping others; I am looking forward to the community here!

Hi Amanda,
Today is 10/10/22 AEST – good idea adding your own date stamp.
Welcome! You sound really busy.
I am a software engineer living on the eastern coast of Australia. I am trying to respond to as many posts as I can. I think that’s the only way that a real community will arise from this forum. I have three teenage kids. One is just about finished school. I enjoy archery with my 15 year old son. I have also just applied to volunteer with the St John’s Ambulance here where I live so that I can acquire some good first aid skills and get some experience in using them.
Cheers,
David

Today is 10/10/22, I saw the ad for “The Ready Room” (on Instagram) and could not subscribe quick enough. I recently became the Director of Security & Risk Management at Edgewood College in Madison, WI. Prior to that, I retired (in April 2022) from a thirty-one year career with the U.S. Secret Service. I am trying to get my hands on every piece of information that will help me in my new role. There is a lot of garbage out there, so I’m stoked to have access to this platform. I look forward to learning from and meeting you all. – Jack Leskovar

Hello Everyone!
First and foremost, I apologize for the silence and lack of response. We have been developing this site over time and finally getting things squared away and ready for a real launch. You are part of the beginning – with that – comes some growing pains – so I hope you will endure it with me. Here is the plan:
1. Complete the backend infrastructure within the next couple of weeks
2. Start rolling out regular content starting with Combat Edition and Rugged Life
3. Start weekly online meets to do QA and subject specific discussions
4. Upload more handbooks and references…
Standby for first episode, Combat Edition, coming within the week!
Thank you for your patience,
Clint

Hello Everyone,
My story is Army vet, retired law enforcement and now looking for the next career/adventure. I’m married with two grown kids, a grandson and a son-in-law in the Navy. Love the outdoors so you can usually find me roaming around northern AZ exploring this great country. I really enjoy Clint’s work whether it’s the books or the content on WPSN. When I saw this being offered up on the Instagram page it was a no brainer. Looking forward to meeting some folks, working through the site and whatever else comes of it.
Cheers,
Derek

I love our Country, and the freedoms it affords.Im an engaged civilian living in relatively rural environs.Im a hunter and outdoor enthusiast.

I have been following Mr. Emerson for a while. Initially with Escape the Wolf and then Violent Nomad. Networking allowed me to make some other great connections. I had been doing more travel on my own as a consultant and realized I was naïve and clueless. So I invested in myself. Still learning. My children, six, are adults now except for my youngest. My husband feels better about me traveling. He waited patiently until I was ready to get my concealed carry license. It only took two years. I am a work in progress.

Finally joined today!
Hi everyone, I am Linda and I live in Christchurch New Zealand.
I have worked in healthcare for over 30years and am getting ready to leave and take up new life adventures. I have a partner (who has taken possession of Clint’s books that I ordered and keeps asking have I read this bit?) and we have two adult children. I can say I am reasonably skilled up on anything earthquake related as anyone who lived in Christchurch when we had a big one and 12yrs of smaller ones, is . I love learning new things everyday and have already learnt some great everyday skills from the videos on Clint’s instagram. That is why I joined up here… to learn more.
Great to meet you all.

G’day people
My name is Jasmine, hubby and I have 3 teenage boys. We’re from the Hunter Valley here in New South Wales, Australia. My father was in the Defence Force for 30years, so we got to see a bit of this wonderful land of ours growing up. I’ve been an admin bitch for the past 21 years for the same company. Looking forward to learning and implying these new found skills both in my home life and in my workplace. As a matter of fact, I have let my fellow female colleagues know about the “forget-me stick” (the rolled up newspaper baton), as some of the people we have had to deal with as of late, do not understand the meaning of “you have outstayed you welcome and need to leave now”. I figured it is better than throwing one of the computers at them, which would be a last resort 😉

Hi Jasmine,
Welcome! I live just a stone’s throw from you. I’m living in Bathurst, NSW Australia.
The dates on posts are a little messed up at the moment. A new post in a thread will have the same date as the original post. I believe that a fix is being worked on. For that reason it’s probably a good idea for now to add the date manually to your post as you did.
Cheers,
David

Hi David,
I’m a West Aussie and we went to Bathurst a few years back for the big race – I thought Bathurst was a beautiful place and was considering a move there…then I found out how cold it gets in the winter and decided against it! I don’t do the cold very well 🙂

G’day Linda,
Thankfully, Bathurst hasn’t flooded too badly yet. The river does often get high enough to cut off some roads, but it hasn’t been any worse recently. Personally, I live too high to be concerned about our property flooding. The positive side of all this rain, if there is one, is that we are unlikely to have a bad bush fire season.
Cheers,
David
-
July 15, 2021 at 3:00 pm #6659
Kia Ora David,
Glad to hear your feet are dry (ish). Taking the positive out of the whole thing is hopefully less bush fires.
We are apparently heading for another drought this summer but had a dumping of snow two weeks ago! In October! In Christchurch! Which is like expecting snow in Melbourne at this time of year. Extreme weather all round.
Hubby and I heading to Bathurst either next year or the one after to watch those cars go round and round. We can set a goal to catch up for a cold one.
Cheers
Linda

Hey Linda,
The race is certainly a popular event here in town. It gets pretty busy that week. I’m not really a race fan so, I’m generally content with listening to the faint roar of V8s in the background and the occasional fly-by of F/A-18s. Some years we have let our house to a race team for the week and taken a holiday. Give me a shout should you decide to come next year. It would be great to meet up if we are in town.
Cheers,
David

Hello all!
I am a 50 year old dad to a 9 year old son, and a 7 year old daughter. My wife of 10 years and met in the military, and we have not stopped since. I recently left my position as a Lt with a career fire department after 32 years. I did the Marine Corps reserve, and Army National Guard gig for 16 of those years. Began to see in the obummer years that as a family man, my greatest allegiance lies in keeping them safe. Started on the survival, minimalist, prepping, and defending and providing way of life. Goal that I hope never to achieve is to be able to thrive with the family in the post apocalyptic world. To that end, I am always grabbing what training I can ( cheaply). I look forward to the training and challenges I can find here and to be with like minded folks (virtually).

Only today realized I had not checked in for a bit. Saw a few post on LinkedIn by Mr. Emerson which reminded me to jump over. Hello to all the new folks. Love that so many are in other parts of the world. Feeling a bit outclassed as I am a hick from the Ozarks of Missouri. Nothing exotic here. I look forward to reading your posts.

(I’m a dumbass and posted this to the wrong place, so I’m posting it here, as well, and adding something I forgot to include in the original post.)
Howdy, all.
My name is Tara and I have an odd fascination with survival-type stuff. (Don’t we all? Isn’t that why we’re here?)
A little about me: I live in Texas and I’m a mom of three small children (5, 2.5, and 1). I’m also a CPA, but I left my job at the beginning of 2021 (yay for the Great Resignation) to work on a personal passion project, which takes up the vast majority of my time when I’m not doing laundry, because kids…you know?
I love hiking/backpacking/camping and I love to learn new outdoor skills and trying out new gear. I especially love planning backpacking trips and once upon a time considered doing it as a side gig, then kiddos came along. Maybe when they’re older…
I’ve read all of Clint Emerson’s books and I learned something new from each of them. I especially enjoyed the Combat Edition of 100 Deadly Skills because the different fighting styles are so interesting to me. I used to do HaganaH (yes the 2nd H is supposed to be capitalized), which is similar to Krav Maga, but different enough that it can’t be called Krav Maga (don’t ask me why; I’ve never done Krav Maga, but I did watch all the videos with Marcus Torgerson). I loved how violent it was.
Anyway. Glad to be here.
